Lead Attorneys and Dream Team Leaders
Vanessa Rae Alonso
I’m the daughter of Mexican immigrants. I grew up in El Paso, Texas, on the border—where I learned how complex it can be to identify as both American and Mexican at the same time.
I come from a humble family. My mom was a teenager when I was born, but we never lacked love or support. Family always came first.
Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of helping others and making a difference. In law school, during a visit to the camps where immigrants worked, I reconnected with my culture, my language, and my roots. That’s when I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to immigration law—to help people like my own family.
Helping Latinos resolve their immigration status became my passion. Today, I specialize in finding creative solutions for people who’ve been rejected elsewhere. My goal is to make sure my clients feel safe, have access to work, and can live the life they deserve in the United States.
Why does this matter to you, someone looking for legal help?
Because I’m Latina, and your story matters to me. I think of your family the way I think of mine. My mission is to help you find peace by providing the legal protection you and your loved ones need—so you can live without fear, knowing you are not alone in this country
Christopher Alonso
I’m Puerto Rican, raised in New York by my grandmother—the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She taught me the value of hard work and kindness. She was my role model, working tirelessly to give me a better life.
After losing her shortly after 9/11, I joined the Army to protect my country and honor her legacy. Military service shaped me—it taught me the importance of defending others.
After 19 years as a special agent, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer. That experience gave me unique tools to identify weaknesses in a case and turn them into strengths for my clients.
Today, I fight with everything I have to reduce or eliminate criminal charges and support immigration cases. In every case, I see a new opportunity to protect families with strength and commitment—just like I’ve always done, now through the law.
As a Latino, I deeply understand the challenges our community faces. I know what it feels like to be underestimated, and I’m committed to helping you build a better future. At Alonso & Alonso, we share that pride and that purpose.
We’re here to give you the best legal representation possible—because we know how much is at stake.

San Antonio Immigration Services
The U.S. immigration process is different for everyone, just like their dreams. Some apply to reunite with family, others to work or study, and many for other reasons. But amid these dreams lies a long application process. At Alonso & Alonso, our immigration attorneys provide comprehensive support for all types of immigration cases to match your goals.
Family Immigration Services
We help you reunite with your family. There are various immigration categories through which you can petition for your spouse, children, parents, or immediate relatives. You can do that if you are a U.S. citizen, a green card holder, or even a student enrolled in special programs. This requires proper documentation, proof, and choosing the right category of visa, which in family immigration services includes IR, J-2, and B2 visas.
Marriage Visas
Our law firm assists couples in applying for marriage visas, ensuring every step of the immigration process is completed accurately. We help you whether you are in San Antonio as a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or an undocumented immigrant. Our immigration attorneys guide you through documentation, including Form I-130, Form DS-260, and others, so that you and your family members can be united.
Humanitarian Visas
This visa is for immigrants who need to stay in the U.S. for urgent humanitarian reasons, such as danger in their home country or medical treatment. In these situations, navigating immigration laws can feel overwhelming, but our immigration attorneys are here to guide you and make the process easier.
Vawa Visas
This form is used by victims of domestic violence by a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, wherein a spouse can self-petition without the abuser’s knowledge, which includes Form I-360 (Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant). Our bilingual immigration attorneys provide compassionate legal support for families seeking safety.
T Visas
The T visa offers protection to noncitizens in the U.S. who have suffered from human trafficking, forced labor, or other severe forms of exploitation. At Alonso & Alonso, our San Antonio immigration attorney provides compassionate, confidential support to help victims rebuild their lives. We guide clients through every step — from confirming eligibility and preparing documentation to representing them with care and determination throughout the immigration process.
U Visas
The U non-immigrant visa was created to protect victims of crimes such as aggravated assault, domestic violence, and sexual assault, who have shown good moral character and have been cooperating with law enforcement in investigations or prosecutions. Our attorneys are Texas Board-certified and are equipped with the legal specialization to help you through these types of visas with compassion and expertise.
Green Card
With our experienced immigration attorneys, we help you to obtain a green card that allows you to live and work permanently in the U.S. Depending on your case, you may file Form I-485 or complete consular processing.
Work Permits
Work permits give immigrants the legal right to work in the United States. Our San Antonio immigration lawyers help clients in filing their applications correctly and on time.
Consular processing
Our San Antonio immigration law firm helps families and foreign employees with the consular process, including filing Form DS-260 and submitting the required documents. This process is for applicants outside the U.S. who are applying for a visa or a green card.
Waivers
A waiver application gives immigrants the chance to overcome inadmissibility issues or past immigration violations, allowing them to pursue a visa, continue the immigration process, or re-enter the United States. If you have been told “no” due to your complicated application, then do not worry, our San Antonio immigration lawyers provide personalized legal strategies under nationality law to help clients protect their future and achieve lawful status.
Criminal Law
Criminal charges can seriously affect your immigration status, but with our San Antonio immigration attorneys, we provide the best legal representation that works with you in preparing a strong deportation defense for clients facing deportation and helps with immigration appeals when necessary.
Adjustment of Status
Adjustment of status is the process under the immigration laws that involves filing Form I-485, which allows individuals who are already in the U.S. to apply for permanent residency without returning to their home country.
Immigration appeal
In cases where your immigration application has been denied, you may have the right to file an appeal, wherein our immigration attorneys, who are skilled in immigration appeals, ensure that no option is left unexplored when your liberty to live in the U.S. is concerned.
Medical deferred action
This is a temporary relief provided to non-citizens and their caregivers suffering from life-threatening or any serious medical conditions and who need urgent medical help. This is a form of prosecutorial discretion, which means there’s no particular form or legal process. In such cases, our lawyers evaluate your eligibility, prepare medical documentation, draft legal briefs, and file them with the USCIS office, and even file for renewal when required.
