I am Puerto Rican and grew up in New York. I was raised by my grandmother and learned early on what it means to work hard. My abuelita always showed me her strength, she worked tirelessly, even when she was not in good health, she always fought to give me the best she could. My grandmother taught me how to treat people and I emulated her work ethic.

Shortly after the 9/11 attacks I lost my abuelita. My heart was broken by everything that happened and I decided to heed the call to protect my country and make my abuelita proud. I joined the military and it changed my life completely.

I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice while in my military services. I learned the value of standing up for others and having a purpose in life.

Once you face death, you learn to value life more and discover how small all your other fears are.

After 19 years as a special agent, I decided to pursue my dream and start law school. My experience working the other side's cases, building and shaping them, makes me an expert at seeing the weak spots I can use to favor my clients. I am always willing to give my all for my clients and they see how my passion and work ethic pays off in their cases. No one can stop me because I am mentally strong and trained to withstand adversity. My passion for my work drives me. With my dedication, I get my clients' criminal charges reduced or dismissed. I use this experience also when defending you in immigration proceedings. I have the great advantage of being able to defend my clients not only in criminal cases, but also to help them do everything possible to fulfill their American dream and obtain a permanent legal status within the United States.

I provide my clients with protection and support throughout their process. As a Latino in the United States, I know what it means to be looked down upon and to have others take advantage of immigrants. That is why I am passionate about serving and helping Latinos like me. Being Latino makes me proud and I want to support all those who are struggling in the United States, those who have dreams, those who were born in places where working hard doesn't mean getting ahead. I am a woman born to Mexican immigrants and raised in the border city of El Paso, Texas. Growing up so close to the border taught me at a very young age how complex it was to identify as both American and Mexican.

I come from a humble family. My mom was just a teenager when I was born, but I never lacked love. I grew up in a family where we knew how important it was to support each other and that family always comes first.

As a child, my biggest dream was to help people and make a difference in people's lives. While I was in law school in Toledo, OH, I felt very far from home. We often had the opportunity to visit labor camps where many immigrants worked. When I had the opportunity to visit them it gave me great joy. Being close to them reminded me of how important the culture, music and language of my people are to me. The time I spent in the camps sharing with them made the distance more tolerable.

My stay in the labor camps showed me the reality of Latinos who come to the United States to work looking for a better future with more security for their families. This experience opened my eyes and I knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to working with immigration law so that I could help my own Latino community achieve their dreams.

Helping my Latinos fix their papers became my passion because I can help people like me, who dream, who love their families and who give their whole heart to help others.

I use my passion to find innovative remedies that can help people with unique stories. Most of the time I am helping people who have already tried to fix their status with other attorneys who were unsuccessful. I focus on finding solutions and results that help my clients stay safe, employed and living a prosperous life in the United States.

Why am I different from other lawyers? And why should this be important to you?

It's simple, I am a Latina woman and your results are personal to me. When I think of your children I also think of mine and how they depend on me, just as yours depend on you. When I see someone cry because they haven't seen their mom in years, I remember mine. I have a mission and it is to give you results so that you and your family can live happily and peacefully in this country.

Soy puertorriqueño y crecí en Nueva York. Fui criado por mi abuela y aprendí desde muy temprano lo que es trabajar duro. Mi abuelita siempre me mostró su fortaleza, trabajaba incansablemente, incluso cuando no se encontraba bien de salud, siempre luchó para darme lo mejor posible. Mi abuela me enseñó cómo tratar a las personas y yo emuló su ética de trabajo.

Poco tiempo después de los atentados del 11 de septiembre perdí a mi abuelita. Mi corazón estaba roto por todo lo sucedido y decidí atender el llamado para proteger a mi país y hacer sentir a mi abuelita orgullosa. Me uní al ejército y esto cambió mi vida por completo.

Obtuve mi licenciatura y mi maestría en justicia penal mientras estaba en mis servicios militares. Aprendí el valor de defender a otros y a tener un propósito en la vida.

Una vez enfrentas la muerte, aprendes a valorar más la vida y descubres lo pequeño que son todos tus otros miedos.

Después de 19 años como agente especial, decidí perseguir mi sueño e iniciar la escuela de leyes. Mi experiencia trabajando los casos del otro lado, construyéndolos y dándoles forma, me hace un experto en ver los puntos débiles que puedo usar para favorecer a mis clientes. Siempre estoy dispuesto a dar todo por mis clientes y ellos ven como mi pasión y mi ética de trabajo dan resultados en sus casos. Nadie puede detenerme porque soy un hombre mentalmente fuerte y entrenado para resistir adversidades. Mi pasión por mi trabajo me mueve. Con mi dedicación logró que los cargos criminales de mis clientes sean reducidos o desestimados. Uso esta experiencia también cuando le defiendo en procedimientos de inmigración. Tengo la gran ventaja de poder defender a mis clientes no solo en casos penales, sino también de poder ayudarles a hacer todo lo posible para cumplir su sueño americano y obtener un estado legal permanente dentro de los Estados Unidos.

Les doy a mis clientes protección y apoyo durante todo su proceso. Cómo latino en los Estados Unidos, yo sé lo que significa ser menospreciado y que otras personas quieran tomar ventaja de los inmigrantes. Por eso me apasiona servir y ayudar a latinos como yo. Ser latino me enorgullece y quiero apoyar a todos los que pasan dificultades en los Estados Unidos, a todos los que tienen sueños, a los que nacieron en lugares donde trabajar duro no significa salir adelante. Soy una mujer nacida de inmigrantes mexicanos y criada en la ciudad fronteriza de El Paso, Texas. Crecer tan cerca de la frontera me enseñó desde muy pequeña lo complejo que era identificarse como estadounidense y mexicana.

Vengo de una familia humilde. Mi mamá era solo una adolescente cuando nací, pero nunca me faltó el amor. Crecí en una familia donde sabíamos lo importante que era apoyarnos entre nosotros y que la familia siempre viene primero.

Cuando era una niña, mi más grande sueño era ayudar a la gente y marcar la diferencia en la vida de las personas. Mientras estaba en la escuela de derecho en Toledo, OH, me sentía muy lejos de mi hogar. Frecuentemente, teníamos la oportunidad de visitar campos de trabajo donde laboraban muchos inmigrantes. Cuando yo tenía la oportunidad de visitarlos esto me daba mucha alegría. El estar cerca de ellos me recordaba lo importante que es para mí la cultura, la música y el idioma de mi gente. El tiempo que pasaba en los campos compartiendo con ellos hacia la distancia más tolerable.

Mi estancia en los campos de trabajo me mostró la realidad de los latinos que vienen a los Estados Unidos a trabajar buscando un mejor futuro con más seguridad para su familia. Esta experiencia me abrió los ojos y supe que quería dedicar mi vida a trabajar con las leyes de migración para poder ayudar a mi propia comunidad latina a lograr sus sueños.

Ayudar a mis latinos a arreglar sus papeles se convirtió en mi pasión porque puedo ayudar a personas como yo, que sueñan, que aman a sus familias y que entregan todo su corazón para ayudar a los demás.

Uso mi pasión para buscar remedios innovadores que puedan ayudar a personas con historias únicas. La mayoría del tiempo estoy ayudando a personas que ya han tratado de arreglar su estatus con otros abogados que no tuvieron éxito. Me enfoco en encontrar soluciones y resultados que ayuden a mis clientes a mantenerse seguros, con trabajo y con una vida próspera dentro de los Estados Unidos.

¿Por qué soy diferente a otros abogados? Y ¿Por qué esto debería ser importante para usted?

Es simple, soy una mujer latina y sus resultados son algo personal para mí. Cuando pienso en sus hijos también pienso en los míos y en cómo ellos dependen de mí, como los suyos dependen de usted. Cuando veo a alguien llorar porque no ha visto a su mamá en años, recuerdo a la mía. Tengo una misión y es darle resultados para que usted y su familia puedan vivir felices y tranquilos en este país.
